Gas supply will remain suspended for 11 hours in several areas of the capital on Sunday due to urgent work to relocate gas pipelines. Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited said this information in a statement. It is feared that residential and commercial customers in these areas will suffer due to the shutdown of gas supply.
The notification said that for the information of all, it is hereby informed that due to the relocation of the existing gas pipeline in the Mridha Bari, Shanir Akhra, Nama Shyampur sections of the Dhaka section under the Dhaka-Narayanganj-Demra (DND) area drainage system development project, gas supply to all categories of existing customers in Jurain, Dholai Par, Zia Sarani, Donia, Shanir Akhra, Matuail, Nama Shyampur, Palashnagar and Mridha Bari areas will be suspended for a total of 11 (eleven) hours on Sunday (August 17) from 8 am to 7 pm. In addition, low gas pressure may prevail in the surrounding areas.
The press release stated that Titas Gas authorities sincerely apologize for the temporary inconvenience caused to customers.
