Another student, Tasnia (15), has died in the plane crash at the capital's Uttara Milestone School and College. She was undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 8 am on Saturday. With this, 20 people have died at the National Institute of Burn. The deceased, Tasnia, was a class 8 student of the school.
Dr. Sultan Mahmud Sikder, Resident Surgeon (Acting) of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, confirmed her death. He said that 35 percent of Tasnia's body was burned in the explosion. She died there this morning while undergoing treatment in the ICU.
The deceased Tasnia's father, Md. Nazmul Hossain, said that their home was in Madhukhali upazila of Faridpur district. Tasnia was a student of grade 8 at Milestone School.
On July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force plane crashed at Milestone School and College in Uttara, killing and injuring many people, including students, teachers, and guardians.
Since then, all activities at Milestone School and College have been suspended. After being closed for almost two weeks, the campus reopened on August 3.
Earlier, teacher Mahfuza died on August 14. And today another student died. With this, 36 people have died so far in the plane crash.
