In the first three hours of the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections, 35 percent of the votes were cast at the Teacher-Student Center (TSC). Female students of Begum Rokeya Hall are voting at this center.
Center head Professor Nasrin Sultana told reporters at around 11:15 am on Tuesday (September 9). She said, 35 percent of votes were cast in this center from 8 am to 11 pm. Voting is underway in 19 booths in our center. At least 120 people voted in each booth. This means that about 2,280 votes were cast in three hours.
He further said that if this trend continues, the polling at the center may end before the scheduled time. The number of voters at the TSC center in this election is 5,665 out of about 40,000 voters.
According to the Election Commission, voting will continue uninterrupted from 8 am to 4 pm on Tuesday in 810 booths at 8 centers of the university. Students standing in line at the center by 4 pm will also have the opportunity to vote. All entrances to the university will be closed to the public for 34 hours starting from 8 pm on Monday to mark the DUCSU elections, which will remain in effect until 6 am next Wednesday.
