The day after the announcement of the schedule for the much-anticipated 13th National Parliament elections, Osman Hadi, the spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8, was shot dead. Nearly 65 hours later, law enforcement has not been able to arrest the shooter and the motorcyclist. There is also confusion about the whereabouts of the two suspects.

On Sunday (December 14), investigative journalist Zulkarnain Sayer, in a post on his Facebook page, claimed that former Chhatra League leader Faisal Karim Masud alias Daud Khan, accused in the incident, and his associate, motorcyclist Alamgir, have crossed the border and entered India. He also said that their current location is in Guwahati city of Assam.

However, police say that two people have been identified in the attack on Hadi. They are 'shooter' Faisal Karim Masud alias Daud Khan and motorcyclist Alamgir Sheikh. The police have no information that they have fled the country. We will assume that the accused are in the country and will be arrested.

Security analysts say that if criminals are not arrested for committing crimes, fear does not work in the minds of criminals. If law enforcement cannot eliminate this fear, there is a risk that the level of such crimes will increase further.
