The seventh day of the second round of meetings of political parties with the National Consensus Commission has begun. The meeting will discuss the appointment committee of constitutional and statutory institutions, the bicameral parliament, the election process of the upper house, and the responsibilities and roles of the upper house.
The meeting began at 11am on Sunday at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital. The meeting is being presided over by the commission's vice-chairman, Professor Dr. Ali Riaz.
The meeting is being moderated by Monir Haider, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, and other members of the commission, Safar Raj Hossain, Justice Emdadul Haque, Dr. Badiul Alam Majumder, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, and Mohammad Ayub Mia are also present.
Representatives of 28 political parties, including BNP, Jamaat, NCP, NDM, 12-party alliance, Sammana alliance, and AB Party, are present at the meeting.
