Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, many are saying that he (Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan) has obtained a license for an AK-47. It is not an AK-47. It is his weapon. He had an empty magazine for one of his pistols. It was forgotten.
He made these remarks after a meeting of the core committee on law and order at the Home Ministry conference room on Monday (June 30).
Regarding the issue of the local government advisor's magazine and his weapon license at the airport, he said, "There was an empty magazine for a pistol. It was forgotten. It was actually a mistake. Sometimes it happens that you go to take a pair of glasses but instead of glasses, you take your mobile phone. It's just a mistake. If he had known earlier, he would not have taken it under any circumstances."
To get a valid license, you have to be thirty years old. But Advisor Asif Mahmud is not thirty years old. So how did he get it? — In response to the question, he said, “Since I have not seen that law, I cannot say anything about it.”
Even after two rounds of scanning at the airport, it was not detected. It was detected in the third round. In this case, questions are being raised about the security of the airport. What do you say about this? — In response to such a question, he said, "Suppose my brother is a leader. When he enters, he gets a little privilege from others. This privilege should not be in the case of anyone. The law should be equal for everyone. That is why it has been said."
He said, "Today there was a special meeting on law and order. This issue was discussed from July 1 to August 5. During this time, there will be many programs of social organizations of different parties. We have discussed how these programs can be held without any problems. The programs will be held all over Bangladesh. There is no threat surrounding these programs yet."
