The interim government has formed a committee to investigate the violence and loss of life that occurred in Gopalganj on Wednesday.
This information was announced in a press release posted on the Chief Advisor's verified Facebook page on Thursday.
The press release said that the three-member investigation committee is headed by Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nasimul Gani. The other two members of the committee are two additional secretaries, one from the Ministry of Public Administration and the other from the Ministry of Law and Justice.
The committee has been asked to conduct a full investigation and submit a report to the Chief Advisor's office within two weeks.
The press release said the interim government reiterated its commitment to establishing justice and maintaining public order. Those responsible for any illegal activities and violence will be held legally accountable.
