To keep the market bearable, the government has increased the issuance of onion IPs (import permits) for today (Monday) and tomorrow. 575 IPs will be issued on each of these two days.
The Ministry of Agriculture announced this information in a press release on Sunday (December 14) night.
The notification said that, as before, each IP will be allowed to import a maximum of 30 tons of onions. It also states that the application process will remain the same as before. That is, only importers who have applied for import permits since August 1 of this year will be able to resubmit their applications during these two days.
It is known that an importer will only have the opportunity to apply once.
