Md. Omar Faruk Khan is the new Managing Director (MD) of Islami Bank. He took charge as the Managing Director last Sunday.

Omar Faruk Khan previously served as the Acting Managing Director of Islami Bank. He also served as the Acting Managing Director of NRB Bank.

Omar Faruk Khan completed his master's degree in sociology from the University of Dhaka. He then joined Islami Bank in 1986. He served at the bank's head office for nearly four decades in various positions, including treasury, foreign trade, and corporate investment.

Omar Farooq Khan is a Diplomate Associate of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh. He also holds a Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) degree from the London Institute of Banking and Finance, an ICC affiliate.

Omar Farooq Khan participated in various seminars and trainings on banking, including international banking, credit management, in various countries including Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, China, Malaysia, Qatar, Thailand, India, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Nepal. He was born in Lakshmipur district in 1963.
