The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are still bombing the Gaza Strip in Palestine. On Sunday, 63 people were killed in IDF bombings in Gaza.

The British daily The Guardian reported on Monday that Israel bombed Gaza City and other areas in the 24 hours from Saturday evening to Sunday evening, killing at least 63 people.

Meanwhile, Hamas, the group that controls the Gaza Strip, has given initial approval to a new plan presented by US President Donald Trump last week to end the war in Gaza and secure the release of Israeli hostages. A meeting is set to begin in Cairo on Monday to discuss Trump's proposal in detail. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that representatives from Israel, the three countries mediating the war - the US, Qatar and Egypt - and Hamas arrived in Cairo on Sunday. But despite this, the IDF continues to bomb Gaza.

In a statement, Israeli army chief Lieutenant General Ya'al Zamir said that if the Cairo meeting fails, the IDF will resume its full-scale operation in Gaza.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza would be a top agenda item at the Cairo meeting. Israeli government spokesman Shoshad Bedrosian told reporters on Sunday that the Cairo meeting would last a few days at most.

On the same day, President Trump welcomed the Cairo meeting on his social media account Truth Social and urged the participants to come to a quick decision. He said, “I would expect the delegates to be very proactive and to set a plan of action quickly without delay.”
