Since April 15, 2023, the Sudanese Armed Forces-SAF has been in a fierce conflict with the paramilitary 'Rapid Support Forces'-RSF in Sudan. More than 24 thousand people have been killed in this ongoing civil war. Millions of residents have been displaced.
The intensity of this civil war has increased again in the last few days. The SAF has intensified attacks on the RSF in various provinces across the country, including the capital Khartoum. In the meantime, SAF has announced to take control of Lamab area in the southern part of the capital on Saturday.
In the emerging situation, the residents of the conflict-affected areas, including the southern part of Khartoum, are in crisis of various essential items including food and drink. Many areas do not have gas and electricity. The people of these areas are afraid of their safety. In the overall context, the human rights organizations are calling for the residents to move out of these areas safely. In this regard, they are telling the international community to put pressure on the two conflicting parties. At the same time, it is being urged to increase the humanitarian aid in Sudan.
