BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been undergoing treatment at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Evercare Hospital in the capital for two consecutive days. There has been no significant improvement in her physical condition. However, it is also reported that there has been no new deterioration. The medical board is meeting every day to make necessary changes in the treatment regimen and she has been kept under maximum observation.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury visited Khaleda Zia at the capital's Evercare Hospital on Friday. Due to the risk of infection, they did not enter the CCU and returned after seeing her from outside.
Later, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury told reporters that there is no improvement in Madam's condition. Doctors are trying sincerely.
BNP Chairperson's Private Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar said Khaleda Zia is still in the CCU and her condition has not changed significantly. Personal physician Dr. Zahid Hossain is staying at the hospital round the clock.
Talking to the doctors, ABM Abdus Sattar further said, "Madam's condition is not good. Everyone should pray."
As per the doctors' advice, food is being sent from her Gulshan home every day. Khaleda Zia's younger daughter-in-law Syeda Shamila Rahman is with her at the hospital all the time.
