The schedule for the 13th parliamentary election will be announced in the second week of December, said Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin.
He made this statement in response to questions from reporters after inspecting a mock voting exercise at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Government High School in the capital on Saturday (November 29).
The CEC said, "The schedule for the national elections will be announced in the second week of December. We have made all the preparations for this. Insha'Allah, we will implement the promise we made to give the nation a beautiful, participatory, and acceptable election."
Nasir Uddin said that an additional referendum is being held this time along with the election, for which time management has become very important.
He added that although there are four questions in the referendum, the vote will be on a 'yes' or 'no' basis only. According to the law, the questions are bundled together and there are no separate options, which are determined entirely by political decisions.
He said that from now on, the Ministry of Information and the Ministry of Culture will be responsible for promoting this.
