BNP Vice Chairman Ahmed Azam Khan said that Khaleda Zia is in a 'very critical condition'. He made this announcement at a briefing on Khaleda Zia's physical condition in front of Evercare Hospital in the capital at around 1:45 pm on Monday.
Ahmed Azam Khan said, "Madam has been in a very critical condition since late last night. She is fighting to come back to us. Her condition is still critical."
He further said, 'She has not come in any condition to speak of yet. I ask the nation to pray that Madam can return to us.'
The BNP Vice Chairman said, 'It can be said that she is in a very deep condition. I do not want to explain the deep condition to you. I want to say this, she is in a very deep condition. You can say ventilation, or you can say very critical condition.'
Azam Khan said, "At this moment, there is nothing else to say except asking for prayers from the nation. Doctors are tirelessly providing treatment. Earlier, doctors from America, England and Bangladesh were providing treatment. Now doctors from China have joined in. Everyone is working tirelessly together. The rest is up to Allah."
"My only wish to God is that Madam can return to us from this critical condition fully recovered," said Azam Khan.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of Evercare Hospital in the capital for four days.
