Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus said that the biggest obstacle in exporting labor abroad is the circle of brokers.
He made these remarks at a program organized at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium today (Wednesday) on the occasion of International Migrants Day and National Expatriates Day-2025. The Chief Advisor was present as the chief guest at the program.
Dr. Yunus said, "A word is often mentioned when going abroad: broker. There is no way out of this. Someone is sitting there hoping to send their son or husband abroad. They need money, they have collected money, borrowed it from someone, or borrowed it from the bank, and then they cheat. Whatever we are doing, we are doing it superficially. These are important things. But we are not going inside."
He added, "The problem is more difficult. More complex. We still haven't put in the effort needed to solve it."
He further said, "There is a lack of youth in the world, we are a mine of youth. It is more precious than gold. The whole world must come to us, there is no other place with such a young population."
At the event, Expatriate Welfare Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul highlighted the various steps taken by the interim government for the welfare of expatriates.
