BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia may be buried next to the grave of her husband and former President Ziaur Rahman at Zia Udyan in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed told Prothom Alo that Khaleda Zia's funeral may be held at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital tomorrow, Wednesday.
It was also reported that BNP is trying to communicate with the interim government regarding Khaleda Zia's funeral and burial.
Khaleda Zia had been suffering from various illnesses for a long time. Khaleda Zia was treated in London on January 7 this year. Her health had improved a lot. However, she had become weak after enduring complications from various diseases and physical and mental stress. Her age was also unfavorable. She often fell seriously ill. She was admitted to the hospital.
On November 23, she was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital at such a stage. She was under treatment there for a little over a month. This time she could no longer respond to treatment. Khaleda Zia bid farewell to her beloved countrymen.
