Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the death of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Narendra Modi expressed his condolences in a message on social media on Tuesday.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "Our deepest condolences to Khaleda Zia's family and the people of Bangladesh. May the Almighty give her family the strength to bear this tragic loss."
"As the first woman Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Khaleda Zia's important contribution to the country's development, as well as strengthening India-Bangladesh relations, will always be remembered," Modi said.
Modi, the head of India's ruling BJP party, added, "I remember my warm meeting with him in Dhaka in 2015. We hope that his vision and legacy will guide our mutual partnership in the future."
