A 'March for Gaza' program is going to be held in the capital Dhaka to express solidarity with the Palestinians in protest of the ongoing barbaric Israeli aggression in Gaza.
The formalities of the mass gathering will begin at Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday (April 12) at 3 pm. The program will continue until Maghrib.
A platform called 'Palestine Solidarity Movement Bangladesh' has organized the program. It will be presided over by Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Khatib Maulana Abdul Malek.
Along with the general public, various political and social organizations including BNP, Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP), Jamaat-e-Islam, Hefazat-e-Islam are participating in the program. Organizers and those concerned have expressed their expectation that this is going to be the biggest public gathering in favor of Palestine on the streets of Dhaka.
The organizers said that the program will be attended by well-known Islamic speaker Mizanur Rahman Azhari, Chairman of As-Sunnah Foundation Shaykh Ahmadullah and many others.
Meanwhile, five routes have been set for the participants of the 'March for Gaza' program. The march towards the rally will start at 2 pm today from Bangla Motor, Kakrail intersection, Zero Point, Bakshibazar and Nilkhet intersection. Participants will enter Suhrawardy Udyan from their respective points on the designated route.
According to the instructions, those coming from Bangla Motor will enter Suhrawardy Udyan through Ramna Gate (via Shahbag), those coming from Kakrail intersection will enter Suhrawardy Udyan through Engineers Institute Gate. In addition, those coming from Zero Point and Bakshibazar will enter Suhrawardy Udyan through TSC Gate (via Doel Chattar), and those coming from Nilkhet intersection will enter Suhrawardy Udyan through TSC Gate (via VC Chattar).
Dhaka under a blanket of security, law enforcement on alert
The law enforcement agencies have put in place the necessary security measures to ensure the smooth completion of this largest program, and detectives are also on alert. The law enforcement agencies have strengthened several levels of security around the rally.
Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the issue of adequate security.
He said that adequate security measures have been taken by the DMP around the 'March for Gaza' program organized by various organizations. Along with the required number of police, separate traffic plans have also been taken to maintain law and order.
When asked, DMP Detective Chief Rezaul Karim Mallick said that detectives are vigilant around the 'March for Gaza' program organized by various organizations. In addition, the DB's cyber team has started working for the security of the program. In addition, multiple teams of the DB are working. Detective surveillance has been strengthened to ensure that this program can be successful.
Some guidelines have been given for the participants in the 'March for Gaza' program. They are:
1. Participants are urged to carry personal essentials such as water, umbrellas, masks and to keep the environment clean.
2. They are urged to cooperate fully with law enforcement and volunteers by maintaining patience and discipline in any situation.
3. They are asked to use creative banners and placards without political symbols. They are requested to express solidarity by carrying only the flags of Bangladesh and Palestine.
4. They are asked to actively cooperate with law enforcement to prevent the miscreants from carrying their evil deeds.
