A horrific road accident has occurred in the East African country of Ethiopia. At least 66 people have been killed and four others injured. The accident and casualties occurred on the Gelana Bridge in the southern part of the African country, Bona Zuria Woreda.

Sidama region is located in southern Ethiopia, about 300 kilometers south of the capital, Addis Ababa. The Sidama Regional Health Bureau said on Facebook that "66 people have died so far in a car accident." It did not provide further details about the incident.
According to the bureau, the incident took place at Gelana Bridge in Bona Zuria Woreda. It added, “The four injured passengers are being treated at Bona General Hospital.”
Blurry images shared by the health bureau show a large crowd surrounding a car, which was partially submerged in water. Several bystanders were also seen apparently trying to help pull the car out of the water.
Other images shared by the bureau show the bodies of those killed in the accident lying on the ground, covered in blue tarpaulins.
