Due to the ongoing unrest at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAKU), the university authorities have declared the campus closed indefinitely and ordered students to vacate the halls immediately. On Monday morning, the authorities set a deadline of 9 am for students to vacate the halls. After that, many students started leaving the campus. However, a section of students are protesting against this decision and are pressuring the authorities to accept four demands.
Students announced that they would gather in groups from different halls and hold a protest program at KR Market from 8 am on Monday. They will boycott all classes and exams until their demands are met.
Around 8:30 am, a group of students took out a procession from Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy Hall with sticks in their hands. They raised various slogans demanding justice for last night's attack and protesting the decision to leave the hall. At the same time, students from other halls also started taking out a procession towards KR Market.
The agitating students, who have announced that they will not leave the hall, are chanting slogans and will continue the blackout program until their demands are met. They also told that they will remain on the ground until the outside attackers are arrested.
