The physical condition of Nurul Haque Nur, president of the People's Rights Council and former VP of DUCSU, has improved. He has been transferred from the ICU of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to a cabin.
Hospital Director Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman gave this information at a briefing to journalists at DMCH on Monday (September 1) morning.
The DMCH director said that Nurul Haque Nur is now much healthier than before. It will take four to six weeks for the broken bones in his nose and jaw to fully heal. However, on the advice of doctors, he is able to eat normal food.
He said that the department heads are watching him around the clock. The blood clot in his eye may take 1 to 2 weeks to heal. Noor has been asked to eat normal food. However, he says that he is experiencing pain while eating. This will gradually heal.
Asaduzzaman also said that some of the blood that flowed from Nur's nose after the injury had gone into the airway. That blood came out twice with a cough yesterday. But there is nothing to worry about. His board doctors have decided that he will be shifted from the ICU to the cabin today.
Brigadier General (retd) M Sakhawat Hossain, advisor to the Ministry of Shipping, visited Nur at the hospital this morning. He inquired about Nur's health and spoke to the doctors for a while. Besides, some leaders of the People's Rights Council are also currently undergoing treatment at DMCH Hospital.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of the People's Rights Council, Rashed Khan, said that after recovering, Nurul Haque Nur will file a case regarding the attack.
On the night of August 29, a clash broke out between leaders and activists of the Jatiya Party (JP) and the People's Rights Council in Bijoynagar in the capital. Law enforcement forces resorted to lathicharge to control the clash. Many people, including the President of the People's Rights Council, Nurul Haque Nur and General Secretary Muhammad Rashed Khan, were injured in the incident. The seriously injured Nur was first taken to Islami Bank Hospital, but was later transferred to DMCH Hospital around 11 pm on the advice of doctors.
