Students of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute blocked roads in the capital's Satrasta area on Wednesday, causing severe traffic jams in Mohakhali, Banani, Moghbazar, Malibagh and Mouchak areas.
Eyewitnesses said that the students first gathered on the campus in the morning, then took out a procession towards the Satrasta intersection. They began the movement by blocking the road there at around 11:15 am.
The blockade has caused severe traffic congestion on nearby roads, forcing passengers to get off the vehicles and walk to their destinations.
