Claiming that the 10th National Council of the Jatiya Party was properly held on August 9 as per the constitution and RPO, Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, the chairman of a section of the party, said, " In that council, I was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the Jatiya Party and ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader was elected as the Secretary General."

He made this statement at an emergency press conference of the Jatiya Party held in Gulshan, the capital, on Saturday (September 27).

Anisul Islam said, "After the council, we submitted the committee to the Election Commission. At the same time, we submitted the council's bay document. After the formation of the new committee, GM Quader can no longer introduce himself as the chairman of the Jatiya Party in any way. Moreover, the plow symbol does not belong to any person. The plow symbol is the symbol of the Jatiya Party registered with the Election Commission as number 12. Therefore, according to the law and constitution, our leadership is the only legitimate leadership of the Jatiya Party and the only claimant to the plow symbol."

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin said at a press conference held at the Election Commission building on Thursday, "There are multiple claimants to the plough symbol of the Jatiya Party, and I cannot find out who the owner is." In response to the Chief Election Commissioner's statement, the Jatiya Party organized a press conference on Saturday.

Anisul Islam further said, "We are noticing that some parties are trying to create confusion by submitting different applications to the Election Commission. But the Election Commission can allocate the symbol of a registered political party only on the basis of a legitimate application from the party's democratic leadership, not on the application of any group or individual."

The chairman of a faction of the JPA expects that the Election Commission has followed the same policy in the past and this time too it will take the right decision in accordance with the law, constitution and bylaws.

Citing GM Quader, Anisul Islam said that he once said that he wanted Sheikh Hasina to be hanged. He also said that the elections will not be valid without the Awami League. He himself does not know when and what he said. It is time to think about how relevant a person like him with a double standard is in politics.
