There may be disagreements between political parties, but it should not turn into a conflict, warned Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

He said, "We, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, want to see the elections in February with everyone."

The Jamaat Amir also said that the final candidate nomination list for the national parliamentary elections will be published in due time, not alone, but by including many other parties.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman returned home early Tuesday (November 4) after performing the holy Umrah in Saudi Arabia and visiting the United States and the United Kingdom. He made these remarks at a brief press briefing organized at the VIP gate of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 6 am.

The Jamaat Ameer said, "thank you to the government and the Election Commission, this is the first time that they have taken the initiative to include expatriates in the voter list on a large scale. However, some problems remain. The deadline was set until October 30. The software that was installed did not work properly. Due to various reasons, many could not become voters despite their interest and efforts."

He demanded from the Election Commission that the time be extended by at least 15 more days. The existing complications should be simplified. The conditions that have been added should be relaxed. A citizen's NID is enough to prove his identity. In addition, if there is a valid passport, then nothing else is needed. I urge them to simplify these.

BNP announced its party nominations yesterday, when will Jamaat do it? When asked, he said, "I heard that what BNP has done is not final. They have published the nomination list for 237 seats, but they said it is not final. There may be changes in this too."

Regarding Jamaat's nomination, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "We announced the list regionally a year ago. We will announce the final list in due course."

He said, "Jamaat-e-Islami will not contest the elections alone, we will include many others in the interest of the country and the nation. The final list of candidate nominations for the national elections will be announced in due course, considering all aspects."
