Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that law enforcement forces will be active in the field five days before the elections. They will carry out major activities to control law and order.
He said this in response to questions from journalists in front of the Patuakhali Circuit House on Saturday (November 15) at around 2:30 pm.
In response to a question from reporters whether any special operations will be conducted before the election, the Home Affairs Advisor said, "Law enforcement forces will be on the field for 9 days during the election. Five days before the election and three more days after the election day. Major activities will be carried out in the previous five days. We currently have 30,000 army personnel in the field. At that time, about 100,000 army personnel, 150,000 police personnel, about 35,000 BGB personnel, 5,000 navy personnel, 4,000 coast guard personnel, 8,000 RAB personnel and about 550,000 Ansar personnel will be on the field."
He also said that there is no room for doubt about security in the elections. The elections will be held very peacefully.
The Home Affairs Advisor then left to inspect the Patuakhali Police Lines and Coast Guard Station. He will visit the Naval Police and Tourist Police Camps in Kuakata. After spending the night there, the Advisor will go to Barisal tomorrow morning and from there leave for Dhaka.
