The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Academic Council held on Saturday (June 21, 2025).
This information was given in a notification signed by Dhaka Medical College Principal Professor Dr. Md. Kamrul Alam.
The notification said that as per the decision of the emergency meeting of the Academic Council of Dhaka Medical College held today, the academic activities of MBBS students of the college have been declared closed indefinitely from tomorrow in order to resolve the ongoing deadlock in the college. The students have been instructed to vacate the hostel by 12 noon tomorrow.
It is worth noting that for the past few weeks, students have been protesting against the precarious conditions of the residential and academic buildings of Dhaka Medical College. On Friday, the students submitted a memorandum with five demands and held a sit-in program at the meeting ground.
