Referring to the events before and after the London meeting, Mirza Fakhrul said, "We are confident that the national elections will be held next February. Through that, we will have an opportunity to fulfill our hopes to some extent. I hope that all political parties, all of us who are anti-fascist, will unite and cooperate with them. We will be able to reach our goal of a democratic state system."
The BNP Secretary General said, several new political parties are being formed in the country, an important party will probably go to the Election Commission for registration tomorrow (Sunday). We have welcomed them. Our expectations from them are very high. We expect that these young people, these new people who have taken an active part in the past movement, that leadership will undoubtedly help in achieving the desired goal.
Regarding reforms, he said, "We have agreed on a number of issues, and we disagree on a number of issues. We will implement as many issues as we can agree on. We will discuss the issues that we do not agree on in parliament after the elections, and we will agree on those issues."
Referring to the mass uprising and the fascist rule of the Awami League, he said, "This struggle of the people has been initially successful. We have been able to show the people a new dream that we will establish a democratic state in Bangladesh. We will establish a democratic society. This was our promise to the people."
The BNP Secretary General said, "A lot of money has been deposited in Swiss banks this year. I don't know who this money belongs to, when and how it was deposited. Every patriotic person will think after seeing this news, hasn't anything changed? This happened during the fascist era. This is another proof of how much loot they have done."
