Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's brother Mirza Faisal Amin was attacked during the announcement of the results of the BNP's biennial conference in Baliadangi Upazila of Thakurgaon. His car was vandalized during the event. Mirza Faisal Amin is the general secretary of the district BNP.

The incident took place at 8:45 pm on Saturday at the Baliadangi Samir Uddin Memorial College grounds.

The attackers threw chairs and bamboo sticks at Faisal Amin and vandalized his car. Several district BNP leaders and activists were injured in the incident.

According to eyewitnesses and party sources, the Baliadangi Upazila BNP conference was held on Saturday after almost eight years. Tensions began over the announcement of the results after the day-long voting. Local leaders and activists blocked Faisal Amin and other district leaders for two hours demanding the announcement of the results. They kept shouting slogans saying that no one would be allowed to leave the place until the results were announced. After being blocked, Faisal Amin announced the results at around 8:45 pm. Later, when he tried to get into his car, there was a problem. The angry leaders and activists attacked him.

The video footage shows chairs being thrown at Faisal Amin. He quickly tried to get into his car. The attackers attacked his car and vandalized it. Other leaders and activists who were with him tried to protect him. Several leaders and activists were injured in the commotion.

The car owner and his traveling companion, Md. Rashed, said, "My car has been vandalized."

Police and upazila administration officials immediately arrived at the scene. They tried to bring the situation under control, but the attackers fled by then.
