Nannu, one of the accused in the case of publicly beating and killing businessman Lal Chand alias Sohag by smashing his head with a stone in front of Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka, has been arrested. A total of 8 people have been arrested in this incident.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 arrested him from Narayanganj Port around 1am on Monday (July 14).
Earlier, two people named Sajeeb and Rajib were arrested from the capital Dhaka and Netrokona on Sunday (July 13) morning. The police have taken them on a 5-day remand for questioning.
Family sources say that Sohag was once associated with Jubo Dal politics. His village home is in Barguna Sadar. His 14-year-old daughter Sohana is in sixth grade and his 11-year-old son Sohan is in fourth grade.
Last Wednesday, businessman Lal Chand alias Sohag was brutally hacked to death in public and his head smashed with stones by terrorists. The next day, when the incident sparked a storm of condemnation, the victim's sister filed a case with the Kotwali police station. The case names 19 people.
