All those who committed wrongdoing in the Gopalganj incident will be arrested, and no one will be given any exemption, said Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury.
He made the comments in response to a question from journalists at the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Thursday (July 17, 2025) afternoon.
In response to a question, did the intelligence agencies not have information that such an incident would happen in Gopalganj? The Home Affairs Advisor said, "The intelligence agencies had information, but they did not have information that it would be this big."
In response to a question about how NCP leaders have alleged that the law and order forces have failed, the advisor said, "You can also say a lot about this. Whoever has a say will give it."
In response to another question, he said, "We have given necessary instructions there tomorrow as well. All kinds of preparations will be made to ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future. Now the situation at that place is normal."
When asked about the arrest of criminals, he said, "All those who have committed wrongdoing will be arrested, no one will be given any exemption."
