Suhrawardy Udyan, filled to the brim

A large number of leaders and activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami have gathered at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital for the national rally. Suhrawardy Udyan was almost filled to the brim with the presence of the party's leaders, activists and supporters long before the rally began.

Leaders and activists who have come from all over the country by bus, train and launch are entering the rally venue in a procession. They are carrying the national flag, party symbol and scales. Thousands of Jamaat leaders and activists are also stationed outside the park.

These images were seen while visiting Suhrawardy Udyan around 10 am on Saturday (July 19). The rally is scheduled to officially begin at 2 pm.

Responsible leaders of the party said that today's rally will be the largest in history. Jamaat's aim is to create a new stir in the political arena by holding large-scale rallies. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will deliver an important message to the new generation from the rally. Elections through the PR system after the genocide trial and reforms and the establishment of a Bangladesh of people's aspirations based on the spirit of the July 24 uprising; these are the main guiding messages of the party. In addition, the national leader, Jamaat's Central Executive Council members, working council members, leaders of various parties and representatives of the families of the July martyrs will be present on the main stage of the rally.

In the meantime, beautiful arches have been built, huge banners and festoons have been installed all over the country, including Dhaka. There will be adequate tents, medical teams and security arrangements. Several lakhs of people from various districts and upazilas, including Gazipur, Narsingdi, Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Manikganj, the two metropolises and the surrounding districts of Dhaka, will participate. A 100-foot long and 36-foot wide stage has been built. Where all the latest facilities including LED monitors, seating arrangements for guests are connected.

Responsible leaders of Jamaat said that in the meantime, the party's top leaders, including the Ameer, have carried out extensive organizational activities including mass communication, preparatory meetings, processions and rallies across the country including Dhaka metropolis to successfully implement the rally. About 10,000 buses and several pairs of trains have been reserved. People from the southern region also left for the rally on Friday (July 18) in launches. All anti-fascist political parties, including BNP, have been invited to the rally. Leaders of different religious communities have also been invited. Jamaat's target is to attract 1.5 million people to today's rally.

Amidst the intense debates among political parties on various issues ahead of the 13th National Assembly elections, Jamaat-e-Islami is going to hold a huge rally in Dhaka. Jamaat is looking to ensure the highest attendance ever at this rally at Suhrawardy Udyan. In the meantime, the Jamaat delegation has held several meetings with senior DMP officials. The Jamaat-e-Islami rally implementation committee has completed all the preparations for the rally, including parking for a large number of people, arranging for ablution and prayers, setting up toilets, and setting up medical booths.

It is known that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has held numerous political programs in the past in various places in the capital, including Purana Paltan, Baitul Mukarram, Paltan Maidan in Dhaka. The party has never held a large rally at Suhrawardy Udyan. When the political landscape changed with the fall of Sheikh Hasina on August 5 last year, leaders and activists from different levels of the party's center and grassroots rose up. The party is trying to show its organizational capabilities by holding a 'national rally' at Suhrawardy Udyan today. Jamaat leaders said that there is something different or special in this rally.
