Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is holding its first national rally at the capital's Suhrawardy Udyan. The first phase of the national rally began with a cultural program at 9:40 am today, Saturday.

The cultural program is being hosted by Islamic musician and lyricist Saifullah Mansur. The Saimum Shilpi Gosthi is performing music in this episode. In addition, cultural organizations at various metropolitan and divisional levels are scheduled to participate in the program.

A large crowd gathered at the Jamaat's national rally held at Suhrawardy Udyan to demand the seven-point demands. The party's leaders and activists started arriving from yesterday evening. This morning, thousands of leaders and activists arrived at the rally site in a procession. Suhrawardy Udyan was filled to the brim. A large number of people were seen taking positions outside the park as well.

The seven-point demands of the rally include: ensuring a level playing field in free, fair, impartial and peaceful elections, trial of all genocides, necessary fundamental reforms, implementation of the 'July Charter' and declaration, rehabilitation of the families of those martyred and injured in the July coup, national elections under the proportional representation (PR) system, and ensuring the voting rights of more than one crore expatriate voters.
