There can be no national elections without reforms, said Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP). Regarding the constitution, he said, the 1972 constitution is a Mujibist constitution. Reforms to that constitution are necessary for the country's reforms and development.
Nahid made this statement at the party's road meeting held in the Berirpar area of Moulvibazar town on Saturday (July 26) afternoon.
He also alleged that attempts were being made to blame the coup plotters for the police killings in Baniachong, Habiganj.
The NCP convener also said that the NCP will work to improve the living standards of tea workers. Along with this, the rights of different ethnicities will be ensured.
Earlier in the morning, Nahid Islam met with the families of the brave martyrs of Sylhet. The proud relatives of the martyrs expressed their strong stance on justice and reform.
