BNP walks out of National Unity Commission meeting.
The BNP leaders took the decision at a meeting with the National Unity Commission at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Monday. This was the second day of the EC's second round of meetings with political parties.
It is learned that BNP has walked out of the discussion on the provision of appointment of Public Service Commission, ACC, Comptroller and Auditor General and Chairman.
Earlier, National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Prof Dr Ali Riaz said the pending issues that have come to the table will be discussed. Progress has been made on several major issues. He said this at the beginning of today's discussion.
The initial proposals were changed many times by the commission, so that the political parties could agree. Agreed on 12 issues. The rest are trying to agree. So that it does not go back to the previous situation in the future. I want to create a historical document so that the path of Bangladesh goes in that direction.
Earlier on July 23, three parties, including CPB, staged a symbolic walkout from the National Unity Commission's dialogue protesting the law enforcers' attack on students and guardians over the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara Diabari in the capital. CPB General Secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince stood up and protested at the beginning of the session.
He announced a symbolic 10-minute walkout. Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) standing committee member Mushtaq Hossain and BSD general secretary Bazlur Rashid Firoz supported him.
