In the weekly meeting of the Advisory Council, the Chief Advisor directed to organize a good election and said, "The first chapter of the interim government ended on August 5. Then the second chapter began. Now the first and main task of the government is to conduct the upcoming 13th National Assembly elections smoothly."
Shafiqul Alam, the chief advisor's press secretary, told reporters after the advisory council meeting at the secretariat on Thursday.
The press secretary said, "The chief advisor told the advisors at the meeting that the government's main responsibility now is to ensure that the elections are held in a fair, impartial and festive atmosphere."
Shafiqul Alam said that the Ministry of Education has decided to give an award in the name of teacher Mehreen Chowdhury, who risked her life to save students in the Milestone School and College warplane crash, at the initiative of the advisory council meeting.
Earlier in the morning, a regular meeting of the Advisory Council was held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Chief Advisor. Along with the advisors, secretaries of the concerned ministries also participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed several specific issues proposed by various ministries.
