A court has granted a five-day remand for questioning Major Sadiq's wife Sumaiya Zafarin in a case filed by Bhatara Police Station over the guerrilla training of Awami League leaders and activists.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sefatullah issued the order after the hearing on Thursday.
The investigation officer of the case presented him in court on that day and applied for a 7-day remand. His lawyer applied for bail, seeking cancellation of the remand. The state applied for his maximum remand. After hearing both sides, the court gave the order.
Earlier, DC (Media) Talebur Rahman said at a press conference at the DMP Media Center that Sumaiya Zafarin was arrested from the Mirpur DOHS area. The role of Sumaiya in this anti-state conspiracy is being investigated. On Wednesday, accused Sumaiya Zafarin was taken into custody by the Detective Branch (DB).
