The government has revoked the police medals of 40 absconding police officers. These officers include DIGs, police superintendents and police inspectors. All of them are absconding and temporarily suspended.
These officers were awarded medals in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2022.
This information was given in a notification from the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday (August 10). It was signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Toushif Ahmed.
The notification states that the financial benefits related to the medals have been stopped in favor of the police members whose medals have been withdrawn and instructions have been issued to refund all the money previously received related to the medals.
