54 Bangladeshis are coming back in the first round from Lebanon, which was devastated by Israel's attack. The Bangladesh Embassy in Beirut said that 54 expatriate Bangladeshis will leave for Jeddah by air on Sunday at 11 pm. They will reach the country on Monday evening.
Foreign Adviser. Tauhid Hossain said that the number of Bangladeshis staying in Lebanon is about 70 thousand to 1 lakh.
About 1,800 of them have registered to return to the country. Among those who have registered, 167 people have legal documents, the remaining 1,623 people are undocumented.
IOM is working to bring back 200 people on chartered flights. For others, the government is arranging flights, about 50 people can come every day. It is expected that 58 people will come to Dhaka in the second phase on October 22.
Expatriate Bangladeshis are in fear due to the terrible attack of Israel in Lebanon. Many have moved to shelters or safe places. The government has taken initiative to bring them back. As part of this, 54 Bangladeshis are returning in the first phase.
