Four more Palestinians have been killed and many more injured in Israeli strikes on the besieged Palestinian territory of Gaza. Despite a ceasefire agreement, Israel continues to carry out almost daily attacks on Gaza, causing casualties.
Meanwhile, the latest death toll in the besieged valley has surpassed 48,460, the Anadolu news agency reported in a report on Monday (March 10).
The news agency says that four more Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip despite the ongoing ceasefire agreement, bringing the total death toll in the territory since October 2023 to 48,467, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Monday.
A ministry statement said that Palestinian health workers and rescue workers have recovered five more bodies from under the rubble in Gaza in the past 24 hours, adding to the death toll. In addition, 16 more people were injured in Israeli strikes, bringing the total number of injured since the start of the conflict to 111,913. Many people are still trapped under the rubble and on the streets, but rescuers have not been able to reach them.
Incidentally, a ceasefire has been in effect in Gaza since January 19. This three-phase ceasefire agreement also includes prisoner exchanges and the goals of a permanent peace, a permanent ceasefire, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
Despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, Israel continued its brutal attacks on the long-besieged territory.
According to the United Nations, Israel's brutal offensive has displaced about 85 percent of Gaza's Palestinian population. In addition, 60 percent of the infrastructure in the besieged territory has been damaged or destroyed. Israel has already been accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
