Israel is preparing to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, according to new information from US intelligence agencies, CNN reported, citing several US officials who did not wish to be named.

However, Israel did not comment on the report, which was reported by Reuters in a report on Wednesday (May 21).

However, it is not yet clear whether Israel has finalized its decision to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. There are also differences of opinion within the US administration on whether Israel will ultimately carry out the attack or not, CNN also reported.

Reuters could not immediately confirm the report. The US National Security Council (NSC) did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The Israeli embassy and the Prime Minister's Office also did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

"The likelihood of an Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities has increased significantly in recent months," an intelligence source told CNN.

The source also said that if there is an agreement between the United States and Iran in which Iran does not completely remove its uranium stockpile, then the possibility of an Israeli attack will increase.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump's administration is trying to find a new diplomatic solution to Iran's nuclear program.

According to a CNN report, the intelligence was gathered through private and public statements by high-ranking Israeli leaders, intelligence surveillance of Israeli military communications, and monitoring of military preparations.

CNN, citing two US sources, reported that Israeli military activities that have been observed include the movement of ammunition for air strikes and the completion of a recent air exercise, which indicates that Israel is preparing for a major attack.

Earlier on Tuesday, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that "the American demand that Iran stop enriching uranium is excessive and unreasonable." He also expressed doubts about the success of negotiations on a new nuclear deal, according to Iranian state media.
