US President Donald Trump has addressed the nation after US bombers struck three Iranian nuclear facilities, calling the strikes on Iran a "tremendous military success".

Trump made the remarks in an address to the nation from the White House on Saturday at 10 pm local time in the United States. Trump's speech was broadcast on American television channels.

Donald Trump has said, 'Iran needs to make peace now. If the country doesn't do that, there will be bigger attacks in the future.'

In his speech, Trump said, "Tonight, I can tell the world that the attack on Iran was a tremendous military success."

Trump added, "This cannot go on like this. Either there will be peace, or there will be a tragedy in Iran. It will be much worse than what we have seen in the last eight days."

"Our goal was to destroy Iran's uranium enrichment capacity and to eliminate the nuclear threat from the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism. Tonight, I can tell the world that this strike was an exceptional military success," Trump said in a speech from the Cross Hall of the White House.

A few hours earlier, Trump posted on 'Truth Social' that the United States had carried out airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities - Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

Trump was accompanied by Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth during his announcement.

He warned that Saturday's attack could be the beginning of a possible series of strikes against Iran. The US's stance in the nearly two-week-old Israeli-Iranian conflict is now clear.

Trump delivered his remarks from the entrance to the East Room of the White House, the same space from which former President Barack Obama announced the death of Osama bin Laden.

Trump said, "This situation cannot continue. Either there will be peace, or there will be a catastrophe for Iran that will be far worse than the last eight days." Remember, many targets remain. Tonight's target was the toughest and probably the most devastating. But if peace does not come quickly, we will strike the next targets with perfect planning, speed and skill.
