Russia, China and Pakistan have submitted a draft proposal to the Security Council calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Middle East.
Reuters reported that the UN Security Council will meet on Sunday to discuss the US attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. The decision came after Russia, China and Pakistan proposed that the 15-member body pass a resolution calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in the Middle East.
The report said, however, that it was not immediately clear when the vote would take place.
Diplomats said the three countries have asked members to provide their opinions on the draft resolution by Monday evening.
Incidentally, a resolution requires at least 9 votes to pass. However, the condition is that none of the permanent members of the Security Council, the United States, France, Britain, Russia, or China, can veto it. That is, if any of these five countries veto it, it will not pass.
