A court has ordered the arrest of Dhaka-based film actress Nusrat Faria, who was arrested in a murder attempt case at the capital's Bhatara Police Station, which is related to the anti-discrimination movement, to be sent to prison. The court also fixed May 22 for her bail hearing.
On Monday (May 19) morning, Bhatara Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Billal Bhuiyan, the investigation officer of the case, presented him in court and requested to be detained in jail.
The accused's lawyers applied for his bail. The state opposed the bail. After hearing both sides, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Naznin Akhter ordered him to be sent to jail.
Earlier, he was detained at Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday. Later, he was shown arrested in a case filed by Bhatara Police Station.
