A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck central Pakistan on Sunday (June 29).
The German Research Institute for Geosciences (GFOS) and the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said the earthquake's epicenter was about 149 kilometers west of the city of Multan. Its depth was just 10 kilometers.
According to the GFOD, the earthquake was shallow. It is usually considered more dangerous because the tremors are felt more strongly due to its location close to the crust.
However, no casualties or damage have been reported so far.
Earlier in July, India's National Centre for Seismology (NSC) reported that a magnitude 4.6 earthquake had struck Pakistan. The depth of the tremor was 10 km and the location was at latitude 27.18° North and longitude 64.96° East.
