Mustafizur Rahman is the only Bangladeshi cricketer to get a team in the IPL. He was included in the Kolkata Knight Riders team. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has ordered Kolkata to drop Mustafizur Rahman from the squad due to the political heat between Bangladesh and India.
There have been rumors about this for several days. Some of India's most radical leaders and activists have threatened to destroy the pitch for taking Fiz into the team. This created concerns about Mustafizur Rahman's playing in the IPL. It finally came true. BCCI secretary Debjit Saikia confirmed to news agency ANI in Guwahati on Saturday (January 3) that the BCCI has asked Kolkata to release Mustafizur Rahman.
