Venezuela's Supreme Court has ruled that Vice President Delcy Rodriguez must take over as interim president in the absence of President Nicolas Maduro.
Earlier, Venezuela's High Court said it was necessary to hand over responsibility to Delcy Rodriguez to maintain administrative continuity and ensure the country's defense.
This information was reported in a BBC report on Sunday morning Bangladesh time.
The court also said that it needed further deliberations to determine what legal framework would be applied to protect the continuity of the country, the functioning of the government, and the sovereignty of the president.
Earlier, after the president was ousted in an attack, US President Donald Trump said his administration would work with a transitional group to take over Venezuela's government, which would serve until a "safe, just and just" transfer of power was ensured in the country.
