India does not want any conflict or tension with Bangladesh, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in an exclusive interview with Network18 Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi.
He said, "We do not want tense relations with Bangladesh, but Muhammad Yunus, the chief advisor to the interim government of Bangladesh, should be careful about his statements."
Rajnath Singh also said that India is capable of facing any challenge, but we want to maintain good relations with our neighboring countries.
India-Bangladesh relations have become somewhat strained in recent times, especially after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government and the appointment of Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus as interim chief advisor.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus recently paid a courtesy call and meeting with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CGCSC) of the Pakistani army, and a five-member delegation from the Turkish parliament in Dhaka. India does not have good diplomatic relations with both of these countries.
