Legendary actor and producer of Indian cinema Dharmendra Singh Deol has been 'dead', his daughter Esha Deol has strongly condemned the news published in various media. Stating that the news of death is not true, she said that her father is recovering.
Angry over the news of her father's death in the media, Esha Deol wrote in a post on Instagram, 'The media is doing excessive propaganda. Spreading false news. My father is stable. Recovering. We request everyone to maintain our family privacy. Thank you for your prayers for my father's speedy recovery.'
His wife Hema Malini also expressed her anger over the news of his death. In a post on social media X at 10:10 am on Tuesday, she wrote, "What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible media outlets spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and recovering? This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible behavior. Please show due respect to the family and their need for privacy."
Since Tuesday morning, some Indian media outlets such as India Today, Economic Times, Zee News and Telegraph have reported the news of his death. Even Union Minister Rajnath Singh, screenwriter Javed Akhtar and others have posted on social media expressing their condolences on his death. However, Rajnath Singh later deleted his post.
Dharmendra was admitted to the hospital earlier this week due to breathing problems. On Monday night, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, his son Aryan Khan, Govinda and Ameesha Patel visited him in the hospital. Hema Malini, Sunny Deol and the entire family are there after his admission.
Known as the 'He-Man' of Bollywood, Dharmendra has acted in one hit film after another for more than six decades. He has acted in 247 films.
