Iran has confirmed that the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar will not weaken the Palestinian resistance movement. Instead, this event has motivated Hamas fighters and every generation to continue their struggle.
Sinwar was killed in an attack at Tal al-Sultan, Rafah, in southern Gaza, where he was taking shelter. Israeli military tanks fired upon the building. Video footage shows Sinwar still fighting back with a stick, even though one of his arms was broken and he was severely injured, while drones hovered overhead.
The Iranian diplomatic mission to the United Nations stated that Sinwar’s final moments would serve as an example of resistance against Israel.
"When Muslims see martyr Sinwar standing on the battlefield, in military uniform, facing the enemy openly, without hiding, it will strengthen the spirit of resistance," the statement said.
Sinwar will be an example for Palestinian youth and children who will continue their fight to achieve Palestinian independence.
The statement further noted, "As long as occupation and aggression persist, resistance will continue, because the martyr (Sinwar) will live on as a source of inspiration."
