Sourav Ganguly was a famous cricketer of the Indian national team. His name will also be on the list of one of the best captains of India. After leaving cricket, this Bengali cricketer, known as Maharaj, was the president of the Bengal Cricket Association. He has fulfilled the important responsibility of the president of the BCCI.
Indian cricket legend Sourav has now entered coaching. He has taken over as the head coach of Pretoria Capitals, a team in the South African franchise cricket league SA T20.
Pretoria Capitals announced this in a post on their own Facebook page, "The Maharaja of Kolkata is making a royal appearance at the Capitals camp. We are very excited to announce that Sourav Ganguly is our next head coach. The Centurions await you."
SA T20 will start in December this year. Pretoria said that Sourav will be with the team from December 26 to January 25. Previously, former English cricketer Jonathan Trott was the head coach of Pretoria. But under him, the team won only two matches out of 10 matches. Besides, Trott will be the head coach of the Afghanistan national team in the T20 World Cup in February. That is why he will not be the coach of Pretoria.
Ganguly, although he has not coached any team before, has served as Team Director for two seasons in the IPL. He was the Team Director of Delhi Capitals in the 2018-19 season. He held the same role in the last season as well. Now, he has started his coaching career with Delhi Capitals' foreign franchise Pretoria Capitals.
